Personal Choice
I read a story that originated from the Hopi tribe, although the Navajo tribe is from the southwest region. The story is called “ Kokopilau The Hump-Backed Flute Player”. This tale is about a grasshopper/man who goes to a place that is guarded by a great eagle. Kokopilau thinks that the land would be nice to live in. So Kokopialau goes to the guarding eagle. The eagle wants Kokopialau to prove that he is powerful. Kokopialau takes a spear and shoves it into the space between his wing cover and his body. The eagle believes he has power and lets Kokopialau and his people live there in peace
